The Delegation of the European Commission to Bangladesh is organising a half-day seminar on the Asia IT & C programme on 1 September 2002, 10 am at the BRAC Centre, Mohakhali. The EC Asia IT & C programme aims at co-financing partnerships in Information Technology and Communication between Europe and Asia.

Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Honourable Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, has given his consent to grace the occasion as Chief Guest. H.E. Ambassador Mr. Esko Kentrschynskyj, Head of Delegation of the European Commission to Bangladesh, will preside over the inaugural session.

The purpose of the seminar is to promote the Asia IT & C programme and explain the guidelines for application in view of the current call for proposals. The deadline for the call ends on 30 September 2002. Through this information seminar, the EC Delegation in Dhaka, hopes to enhance Bangladesh's participation into this regional economic programme of the European Commission.
