EC Launches Revamped Website Press Release Dhaka, 21st October, 2003 The website of the Delegation of the European Commission to Bangladesh has been given a new look. To mark the occasion, a launching ceremony was organized by the Delegation at Hotel Sarina, Plot # 7, Road # 17, Banani C.A, Dhaka, on October 21. The revamping of the website has been done to maintain consistency, in terms of look and contents, with websites of Delegation around the world and the European Commission's "Europa" website. H.E. Mr. Esko Kentrschynskyj, Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Commission to Bangladesh while addressing the guests said, "I am confident that the website will soon become a popular tool, primarily amongst journalists, students, but hopefully also the general public, to get to know more about the European Union and the Delegation of the European Commission to Bangladesh." There are indeed now clear links to EU institutions from the Delegation's website. The new website is now more informative for the web visitors around the world, increasing awareness about EU activities in Bangladesh as well as about EU in general. "With links to Europe, the European Commission website, you will have a mine of information on trade, development, human rights, or any other subject where European Commission is actively involved," Ambassador Kentrschynskyj said. Other diplomats and staff of the Delegation of the European Commission were present at the event. Journalists from all major dailies published from Dhaka were present at the occasion. Also present were representatives from the Embassies/ High Commission of different Member State countries in Bangladesh. -More follows- European Commission is one of the largest donors of Bangladesh.
