Description |
For Asian regions with a lack of drinking water, an
increasing loss of soil-fertility and a lack of appropriate energy
supply, Short-Rotation-Plantations (SRP) can be a contribution to
overcome these problems because they can combine a highly efficient but
low-cost biological wastewater treatment with a biomass production for
sustainable renewable energy supply (combustion, transformation into
electricity etc.). |

Description |
The aim of the action is to support the Government of
Bangladesh in the rehabilitation of livelihoods devastated by cyclone
SIDR. The programme will help to ensure socio-economic stability in the
cyclone SIDR affected area and effective LRRD with relief interventions
and longer term donor development activities. In particular, the
specific objective of this action is to support the rehabilitation of
agriculture-based (agriculture, livestock, fisheries and social
forestry) as well as non-agriculture-based livelihoods in severely
cyclone SIDR affected districts of Bangladesh. In addition, the
programme will indirectly improve the food security situation of the
most vulnerable population in the cyclone SIDR affected coastal areas of
Bangladesh. |
