Description |
A network of 11 NGOs are carrying out 8 co-ordinated
projects to improve vulnerable groups' access to enable the electorate
in targeted areas to make independent, informed decisions at the ballot
box. The projects seek to empower vulnerable groups, to instil messages
of anti-violence, tolerance, dialogue and equality of opportunity, and
also to sensitise citizens to their responsibilities and rights. |

Description |
The project aims at building the capacity of disabled
people’s organisations (DPOs) so that they have effective membership
structures and federations link up at district and national level to
lobby for disabled people’s rights with a united voice. Improving the
skills of DPO to advocate and influence for inclusive policies and
services and to access information and funding to do this. Ensuring the
inclusion and representation of the most marginalized disabled people in
the disability movement to advocate for their rights. Supporting DPOs to
campaign for legal protection and the implementation of legislative
rights and influence the Bangladesh government, private sector,
development agencies and civil society for inclusion and access to
services. |

Description |
The project aims at promoting equal opportunities and
meaningful participation of Persons with Disabilities in Bangladesh by
strengthening of a comprehensive and decentralized intervention process
to address the needs and promote rights of persons with disabilities,
mainly in two disaster prone areas in the northwest and northeast
regions.
The ultimate beneficiaries are the Persons with
Disabilities all over Bangladesh through the network of of Community
Development Organizations of local partner Centre for Disability in
Development (CDD), and the proximity of its disability-related
services. |
